Simon Weathers - Ex-IBM Living Legend

After nearly 40 years Simon has recently retired from IBM! After a varied career with Big Blue, including assignments in Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Brazil, Simon spent the last three years as a project executive in the business continuity and resiliency services division of IBM. A cherrished memory, given his keen interest in sport, will surely be from the 1996 Olympic Games when he was part of the team in Atlanta, Georgia.

Simon is now in the market for roles associated with the Rugby World Cup in England in 2015 and the Open Golf Championship at Hoylake in 2014. Having served his time in technology, Simon is not really interested in IT related opportunities, and instead wants to combine his interests with his skills in man and event management.

He's always up for a beer so if you are in the North-East be sure to get in touch!

Mid makes move

Having seen over the Verizon and what the future held, Paul has turned his ship around and charted a course back to more familiar lands. He's had the Insight to ride the CREST of the wave and should dock in just a few days - good luck in the new role!

St John - The darkness calls

Having failed to find that perfect pint of Guinness here in the UK, despite an exhaustive search, Singe has embarked on relocation to the source of the dark stuff - Dublin. He and the family are moving to Ireland for a better quality of life, I have to agree it does taste better over there! We'll be sorry to see him go (as were Deloitte - he quit just when they needed him most), but I'm sure we will see plenty of him given his continued involvement in CREST. All the best, and see you soon for a few black and white moments :-)

EYzing into employment

Having tended the garden for many a long hour over the hot summer months and with the winter fast approaching, Martin has decided it's time to get back in doors! He's finally dropped a few hints about where he's been heading, and is looking forward to starting his new role.

Brooks' Deserting UK

Geoff's tireless campaign and countless conquests in the UK, across EMEA and not to mention parts of the US, has taken a new turn. In his relentless search for fresh fields, and now in fact desert, his crusade continues in Dubai. Geoff is off later this month to begin a new chapter...

Keely see's the light

He's finally made the switch, having found the route out of IBM and into Cisco. Wishing he'd made the move earlier, he's clearly got more time-to-live (enough puns now!) with his 3(!!) boys now terrorising the local nursery, and himself starting a mid-life crisis – Supermoto - yellow biker! Remember how settling down and having kids was the last thing he would ever contemplate...

In the Mid'st of change

Paul has a new Verizon - having recently joined the senior management team at Verizon Business to manage the PSS delivery team. Rumor has it they are expanding fast so this is definitely one to watch over the coming months!

Martin makes move on Independence

Martin announced today that he is leaving Deloitte next week in pursuit of a better quality of life! Some thought it would never happen and were shocked at the news. Excited at the opportunity before him, Martin declined to comment on where he was headed, but indicated that he had ample supplies of sun oil to see him through the long summer in the garden! Keep in touch with developments by getting connected here.

Weller makes move to 'cisco

Aaron is in town later in the month on his way to his brother's wedding - he will only make a very brief appearance but is keen to meet up for a few beers. Note that his email address changed earlier in the year, so please get his latest details via LinkedIn if you don't have them.

Having parted company with Priscilla over a year ago he's now moved to San Francisco! When I caught up with him he was in Seattle airport on his way to Idaho for a day trip. He said "I am really enjoying it over here" and he'd caught up on some of the UK news having met up with Paul Williams recently.

Going down under

Bryan is off to New Zealand in a few weeks, with his family, and isn't planning to come back for a couple of years! Join us at the Walkabout (Temple) on Thursday 16th March from 5.30pm to toast him on his way. Should be a good evening with their usual good food and beer being complemented with live music from 9pm. See you there!

Sunseeker gets Singapore Sling

Latest news from our sunseeker Sinéad is that she's on the move again. Neil has been promoted and they are both off to Singapore in the spring. Although reluctant to give up the fabulous views from their appartment and the lifestyle of HK, Sinéad has found some comfort in the prospect of year round sunshine! Well done Neil!

Scott and the Antarctic!

Supplies in Hull exhausted, Mick is moving south. He's returning to the south coast and will once again be based form the London office so we should see more of him at the Club's events in the coming months. He's waiting on the completion of his house sale and all being well should be on the move early in the new year.

Positively Inspired!

Where is he now.....? Paul surfaced at Christmas, a new man and, as of a few weeks ago, a new job - but some things don't change, his passion for music, Ultra1 has just publicly released probably his best track to date.... Positivity. You can find a link to the track in the Club's archive pages.

Pop the Cork!

Congratulations to Sinéad and Neil who are tying the knot over the festive break. Jetting off to SA this is one Christmas their folks won't forget. A far cry from Cork and HK this is going to be a wedding to remember!

Before you ask, no Sinéad doesn't need the marriage to keep residancy in HK! She's completely legal already having been working for KPMG for a while now!

Have a great wedding!

Daf's exit - higher than a kite!

Daf went with style. Leaving Deloitte to join NGS Daf organised an excellent evening, setting new heights of expectation the evening began at Tower 42 with a champagne celebration! With such a nice evening the view was spectacular! This was followed by a great curry at the New Delhi Brasserie, and for good behaviour we were all awarded a Gold Card! Moving round the corner, and less well behaved and thanks to Geoff for the swedish entertainment, for a few beers before a casino climax! Great nite!

Oriental Express for Sinéad

For those that haven't heard, Sinéad is off to Hong Kong! Boyfriend Neil has been made an offer he can't refuse, and Sinéad is busy undertaking a flat clearance on eBay before she heads off to join him in their new luxury high rise appartment. This will give them both a fantastic opportunity to explore that corner of the world! All the best!

daf wakes from the deloitte dream

I'll be moving on from Deloitte at the end of the summer, to join the Litchfields at Next Generation Security. It should be an exciting change of scene, with lots of opportunities to learn new tricks, but it will be a shame to be leaving so many old friends behind. I'll be planning a big outing at some point over the summer.
